Cat's presentation...

Hello hello, my lovelies,
I've finally listened to my friend Kloot here and have decided to introduce myself. ^^
First of all, I'll say that I will be writing almost entirely in english, so if you have a problem with that, you can skip my posts (which you'll do anyway if it has to do with lack of comprehension..) I don't want to seem like I'm writing in english because I feel like it, or because I don't want other non-anglosaxons from understanding me. That is definitely not it. I just speak/write more fluidly in english than in any other language, and especially when  wanting to describe something as personal as my opinions and tastes in music, I'd rather not come off as a stupid idiot trying to express myself in a language that does not permit it (for me). SO in conclusion to this point, I will be the english side of the blog, whenever the article is written in english, it will most likely be written by yours truly, <3.
Now, that being said, I can actually introduce myself now. My name's Cat, I'm from Colombia but I lived in Colorado, US for most of my life.. but was born in France, and I've lived in Paris suburbs for about two years now. I love music, and I love to talk about it, to look out for it, discover it, and all of that. Which is why I was happy when asked by Kloot if I wanted to be a part of this. I've started listening to some indie about a year ago or two, and I must say I will never get tired of it. It's great, and it makes me happy. I don't listen exclusively to indie, but mostly indie. But then, what is "indie" really? Are we talking about the genre "indie"? What I mean by this is that many bands start out on independant labels but dont sound "indie", because indie has become a known genre with many subgenres used to clasify music based on the instruments used, the feel of the songs, etc. Right. So that's something to think about, indie is now a genre, and some bands signed to an independant label might not necessarily "sound like indie". I guess in this blog I'll just talk about the music I like, it being "more or less indie" than expected for a blog called indieworld. Haha!
Sooo: I like rock, some metal, pop, along with a indie and most of its subgenres, including indiefolk and all that jazz. The difficult thing sometimes is finding the really sincerely good indie music.. because of the fact that the labels arent too commercial it depends on the sheer talent of the band, and roumours of it, maybe once a site is put up or a few songs are put up on a podcast, a band can get more known. A good podcast I know of (and the bands I will be speaking of will probably be on there because that's where I find music I like along with just being told about good bands) is Indiefeed. Look up the site on google, and you can find it on your itunes, and you can subscribe. It's free (woohoo).
anyway, I'll fill this thingy now and be on my way! (I think I've strayed off-topic enough, don't you?)

Groupes préférés: Bright Eyes, Arcade Fire, The Decemberists, Grizzly Bear, My Chemical Romance (yes, I know it isnt Indie, but that's okay for me), Spoon, The Postal Service.. etc. (there's more, Im just lazy)
Premier CD acheté en pleine conscience: Britney spears? haha. (Im a girl.. I was young.. etc.. hhee)
Genre préféré: Indie Rock, folk, pop, stuff. Alternative, modern rock.
Collection de CD: argh must we talk about this? I have MP3's not CD's. I'd be broke by now.. D:
Concert préféré: Bright Eyes au Battaclan, My Chemical Romance au Zenith.
CD préféré: maybe.. Fevers and Mirrors, Bright Eyes.

Over and out! Keep searching for the good stuff! And hopefully we can help you a little on the way,
love.
cat.
